Conversation Starters

We love the unexpected stories that are shared when everyone is together.

So, we thought we'd share some of our favourite conversation starters with our answers to help inspire indulgent conversations and more meaningful connections when hosting.

We'd love to hear your answers! Share them with us @insiemehomewares.

  1. What is your favourite meal and where were you when you first tried it?

My mother's Tiramisu. I first tried it on Dad's birthday one year when I was old enough. Mum is an old school, no measuring type cook, so the alcohol to coffee ratio is fairly even- Danielle
  2. Who in your life has made the most positive impact on you and how so?

Dad has shown me what it is to be a man. His values, ambition, and drive are traits I've always noticed- Rocco
  3. What achievement are you most proud of?

Launching Insieme. This love project began as a way of blending both of our passions and making use of stone and tile offcuts. From the first coaster we made to the full range we designed and continue to evolve, it's so beautiful to create and share a part of you with so many people and do that with your best friend- Danielle
  4. What are you most excited about in the next few years?

    Having a family - Rocco
  5. Go around the table and tell the person next to you what you appreciate most about them.

To my husband Rock, for always living up to his name and being my rock in all meanings of the word- Danielle
  6. What piece of wisdom has someone shared with you that has stayed with you?

It could always be worse. In hard moments, ask yourself what are you grateful for - Danielle
  7. What has been one experience you’ll never forget?

Proposing to my best friend- Rocco
  8. What’s something only a few but many more people should know about you?

I'm more open than I think most people think. I value the traditional way I grew up but I appreciate how things have changed and the ability we all have to make change- Rocco
  9. What’s something you still enjoy from your childhood?

Drawing. It's still just as much fun and free as it was when I was younger. When I get the chance, which isn't as often as I'd like, you'll find me hidden away doing some continuous line drawings- Danielle
  10. What is a passion of yours that has turned out to be a secret skill?

Researching. It sounds a little odd, but I've always enjoyed learning about different things even when they aren't of particular interest to me and then challenging myself to apply those learnings- Rocco
